Community Plot Proposal

Date posted: Monday 16th April 2018

Community Plot Proposal

We have been approached by a couple of officers from the Hampton Wick Community Policing team, Nick Cheadle and David Auld, who are very keen to take on a plot for community use.

They wish to provide disadvantaged members of the Hampton Wick community, who are currently unemployed or isolated in flats, with an outlet to improve their health and welfare.

They envisage three or four people working on the plot at any one time, with Nick, David or another officer there at all times. The produce would go to the people who work on the plot as well as other disadvantaged members of the local community.

It would also offer police cadets the chance to do work – either through helping on the plot or taking part in our work parties – that would count towards their community service target in the Duke Of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme.

Since this is something new for the Royal Paddocks Allotments, we wanted to give plotholders the chance to ask any questions they might have. Nick has kindly agreed to come along for a Q&A session at the café this Sunday (15th April) at noon. Do come along if you are interested.
